If I personally was going to take couple of teenagers along on first camping trip I would take them somewhere they have have full hookups, cable TV and plenty of activities. Maybe Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. The primitive scene might interest you but it could be their first and last camping trip. This is my personal opinion and don't take it that I am trying spoil your trip. Good luck and sounds like you need a much needed vacation.

If all the above fails, try a single edge razor blade. Some of the above is going to scratch the glass. Your door might be plastic and the harsh chemicals have caused permanent damage.

I have stayed at ABC also and I like Compton's Ridge Campground much better. I try to avoid the KOA'a if anyway possible. Good luck!

I would recommend that you call them directly and ask. They are not the only campground that is dead right now. When great campgrounds don't fill up during Fouth of July, that tells you something. I would think they have monthly rates in none prime times. I really love this campground.

I can understand why this happened, your dealer probably couldn't get financing for your trade just like at times you cannot get approved. I am amazed how many of the dealers are floorplanning all these rv's they have on their lots. Your deal was not a real money maker for them either, but more than likely put owner in fiancial bind so you could trade down. I think you will read lots more of these type dealings until our economy comes back up and fuel prices stabilizes.

I will add my .02 worth, Compton's Ridge-Highest on List and ABC Campground - Lowest on List. You will just have to stay at several different campgrounds and form your own opinion. People are so different, just like Chevrolet and Fords and everyone has their favorite.

While they are drilling your fuel tank, they will also be sawing your catalytic converter off to. Not only will you have no fuel, it will be extremely loud.

I hope you plan on insulating your pole barn, if not it will be like rain falling in the mornings from the condensation dripping off of the metal on the inside. I would recommend installing large drive thru doors on both ends and leave them open.

Well I have a Mobile Suites and it is very similar to the Select. The Select is somewhat lighter in weight but does have most of the same qualities. I have owned my DT product for little over a year and have only has a electric hydraulic brake actuator melt down which was part of a recall. The dealer replaced unit and have had no further problems. DT Products have one of the best insulation packages in the business. I would highly recommend their product if you can pull it and afford it. You will have to look very hard to find anything else that will compete with it without spending lots more money. Before I traded my Class A MH in on my Suites I looked long and hard at all brands before making my decision. I have not regretted my purchase.

I would either pay the bill or move to another campground. Don't see any further options! I have seen some pretty high charges for kilowatts in campgrounds and that depends upon what company or system you are on.

Evidently you have not witnessed a camper going over a railroad track with just as little as a bicycle. The sling shot effect is tremendous and have heard horror stories of people loosing their stuff from back of camper and not even know it, and not realizing the danger you are placing on people following you. If I did go this route I would install some type of camera so I could at least monitor rear of camper.

I have the Trailair and can tell you that it will do nothing for chucking or front to back motion. It only works in the up and down motion due to the way it is pivoted. The Fifth Air Borne would be better choice for chucking issues.

This forum (RV.net) has a free classified section for selling things of that nature. Don't know how effective it is. I would try ads in newspaper, RV Trader, some dealers have consignment opportunities. Good luck!

Best solution is to convert to 50 amp service. All it takes is a new 60 or 100 amp breaker subpanel and 25 ft 50 amp cord. I converted one in spring and overall cost was less than $250. If you are tripping the main 30 amp breaker, then adding additional breakers will not help at all. 30 amps is 30 amps no matter how it is split up. Manufacturers keep loading our campers down with the latest electric gadgets and continue to install these cheap 30 amp services, then if you complain they just say well you can only run one big item at a time. My better half did not like having to cut the a/c just to use the microwave.

I pulled a 05 Tahoe Z71 with my gasser motorhome. It weighed 5700 lbs and had a Blue Ox which was rated for 10K. I still have the Blue Ox base plate and was used very little that is FREE to anyone that could use it. Note: I did beef up the 5,000 lb Valley hitch on my Winnie before I towed it and used a aux braking system. Never had any problems and it really pulled great.

RE: Yes or No.....locking pins on tow bars?
Back in my motorhome days, I used black wire ties to secure the pins in place and when I was ready to unhook, just cut the wire ties. It will not prevent theft, but would make it harder for someone to release the pins.

RE: TV needs tires. What do I get Goodyear, Nokian, Michelins?
I would seriously look at BF Goodrich tires. THat is what I run and get great mileage out of them. We run Michelins on company F250 and they continue to experience sidewall cracking. My F350 dually came with BF Goodrich and they are smooth and very quite.
